I’m not sure how to begin with this post. I’m somewhat sad today . . . well, that’s not the best word to describe my feelings. Hurt? Disappointed? Maybe one of those works.
I got a comment on my last freebie post and as my daughter described it after I read it to her, it was “snarky”. That’s the best word to describe what was said. Fortunately for all of you, I have comments set to be approved before they appear, at least for the first several that are posted. That way, you don’t have to read any nastiness.
But, I am hurt by the comment. It was obvious that the commenter did not read the post; he/she was just scrounging the web for freebies and was extremely upset when all of my freebie links were disabled. I tried to reply, but the email address she left was not longer working (figures).
I’m hoping that I gave you all enough warning about the links being available for only 24 hours — in most cases they were available for longer. I don’t see the point of having a store if I’m going to give everything away. That’s exactly what I said in my email that didn’t get through.
Why am I saying all of this? If you don’t like my policies, then you don’t have to visit my site. That is fine! But please don’t flame me for making decisions about my own blog, store, forum or gallery. They are mine, I own them, I pay the fees to host them and I can run them as I see fit!
As for the one that left the snarky comment, you will be the one missing out on the freebies that I will be offering that will be available indefinitely. If I choose to offer something as a freebie, I can also choose to disable the link. What’s the point of having a store if everything you put in there is also on your blog for free? What a waste of time and money! I will not bend to your snarkiness nor will I change my policy for one person. I might have done something for you had you asked, but there was no reason to be nasty.
So, if you don’t like what I do on my own blog, please don’t visit anymore, but please, don’t leave a nasty comment. That doesn’t do anyone any good.
