Just an Update

I just wanted to give you a quick update on me and the state of my life. My health is much improved with my break this summer. However, my computer is only getting worse. So, the two blog trains in September and then a quick page blog train on October 1 will be my last freebies until I can get a new computer. Today I was trying to make an element for the ADSD September blog train and what should have taken me seconds to do took me 5 minutes before I gave up and just shut down the program. This is the state of things here.

So what does that mean for my blog? I’m not really sure, exactly. I’d like to keep the blog going and post as I’m able but it really depends on this ancient machine on which I work. As soon as I’m able to get another computer, I’ll be posting freebies again. I hope that you are willing to stick around, but I understand if you can’t.

I have enjoyed this journey and will be back at it some day. I just don’t know when!

Blessings,

Back and Itchy

I made it home yesterday from our week in Pennsylvania, but I brought a bumper crop of hives with me! Somewhere (and I think it was at the picnic last Saturday) I came into contact with poison ivy. Now, that it in itself makes one itchy. But, to add fuel to the fire, I’ve reacted to this bout of poison ivy with hives. I’ve had hives in the past from allergic reactions, mainly to soaps, but never to poison ivy. Needless to say, I’m a bit miserable between the hives and the poison. Other than that, we had a wonderful week and spending the time with my daughter was great! She was quite busy this week, but we still were able to spend quite a bit of time together. In fact, while in PA, I took a trip down to my hairdresser and Johannah was able to go with me — great mother/daughter time!

I took a crocheting project along with me. I came home with that one unfinished but orders for 3 more! I’m making my daughter this really cute pair of cuffed slippers. Some of her friends asked if I would make some for them. Since I love doing that kind of work, I of course said yes! When I get Johannah’s pair done, I’ll try to remember to post a pic here on the blog.

Hope you all had a great week. I’m looking forward to getting back into designing!

What Can It Be?

You may remember this post where I mentioned some exciting things happening. Or maybe you remember this post instead where I mentioned that I had gotten my son involved. Maybe you don’t remember those at all, and that’s ok.

I had hoped to unveil the surprise before now, but with my limited computer time and the busy-ness of summer, the unveiling had to be put on hold. Keep checking in, though, because the unveiling will be taking place in about a month!

I’ve had a few guesses as to what the surprise could be — photography, new computer, boy themed kit, new blog, hybrid kit — but nobody has guessed correctly yet. So, I’ll ask for guesses again. If you want to take a guess, please leave your guess in the comments section of this post. Make sure that you leave your email address so that if I decide to give away a prize, I know how to contact you.

Sunday we leave for our annual week at our denomination’s Bible Conference in Stroudsburg, PA. I get to spend a week with my lovely daughter!! 🙂 I will have computer access, so I’ll be able to check email and such.

Sunday will also be the day that I’ll be posting a freebie for you — 5 QP’s made with my “Freedom” kit. I used portions of the freebie kit as well as the paid kit (which will be going into the store as soon as I get back to designing). I hope that you come back for them.

Blessings,
